As a special education educator and mother who's seen the impact of trauma on brain development, I was sparked by the need for kids in difficult situations to ground themselves with executive functioning and social/emotional skills so they may return to a healthy approach to learning. After a great deal of research, I compiled the best education philosophies of the past and present in a way that preludes learning of the future for those facing difficulties. Although Learning in Flow™ was designed for learners in crisis, it has been proven beneficial for anyone who experiences the program.
Learning in Flow™ provides student agency through an individualized, learner-centered, and inquiry-facilitated curriculum that includes gratitude practices, mindfulness, executive function, and social-emotional skill training. The delivery method is your choice. Rubrics grade the entire process; many grades are self-evaluations of a student's professionalism. Learning in Flow™ has a scope and sequence that lines up with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) using the processing skills needed for almost every course. Rubrics can be adjusted to incorporate your school, state, or governing board's standards. The curriculum suits short-term placement settings such as hospitals, PHP/IOPs, discipline placements, etc. It can also be incorporated with a content-driven curriculum to enrich the learning experience while developing skills that will ensure learner success. The curriculum framework and delivery methods are adaptable to your campus needs. Please get in touch with us for more information on how we can assist you with learner success.
